Performing Arts

The performing arts are in abundance in the area, featuring groups of all sizes and disciplines. American Players Theatre is one of the premier outdoor classical theaters in the country, and one of the most beautiful places to see a play. It’s complimented by many other groups, each with its own artistic perspective.

Located on 110 rolling, wooded acres about four miles south of Spring Green, American Players Theatre presents a unique blend of civilized amenities and great theatre, performed outside atop a gentle knoll in a natural amphitheatre. As the actors compete with the stars, moonbeams, and whippoorwills to present the world’s greatest plays, the audience sits in comfort on cushioned theatre seats.

bdds-tnBach Dancing and Dynamite Society

Putting together a summer music festival is like playing a high-stakes poker game.  But with ace musicians like Axel Strauss, Carmit Zori, John DeMain, and Anthony Ross; chamber music trump cards by Brahms, Beethoven, Faure, and Messiaen; and incredible new music hidden up the sleeve, it’s clear the deck is stacked in our favor.  Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society’s 22nd season is entitled Deuces are Wild in honor of all the shuffling, dealing, and card-counting that go into putting together our summer program. Our programs are named after everyday expressions that come from card games like Lost in the Shuffle, Poker Face, and Play the Hand You’ve Been Dealt.
