Local children's book author Dean Robbins will join us at the library to explore what it means to be a hero through the use of brave historical figures like Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass, Alice Paul, Margaret Hamilton and Alan Bean. He also delves into the secrets of being a writer and putting together a book. There will be a book reading & signing of his newest title, The Astronaut Who Painted the Moon: The True Story of Alan Bean, celebrating the only artist to travel in outer space. John Heasley will also present a moon-related activity! Great for all ages, especially K-5. Co-sponsored by Arcadia Books.
This program is possible thanks to a grant from the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium to help make 2019 the year of space at the library!
