New Tax Credit Available in Bear Creek Township The Wisconsin Working Lands Initiative provides landowners with an opportunity to claim tax credits through participation in the Farmland Preservation Program (FPP). Starting with tax year 2020, land within the town of Bear Creek is eligible for participation in FPP. Because of the large number of new eligible land owners, an informational meeting has set up for January 30, 6pm to 7pm at the Kraemer Public Library in Plain. The meeting will provide an overview of five main topics: What are the eligibility requirements for entering into a farmland preservation agreement? What are the benefits of having a farmland preservation agreement? How do I apply? How do I show compliance with the soil and water conservation standards? Enrolling lands, land use and selling land. Please contact Brian Sadler with any questions at 608-355-4841 or brian.sadler@saukcountywi.gov.
